I grew up in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. In 2002, I graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. I then completed three additional years of specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. This specialized program of study and hands-on experience prepared me to meet the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents, including those with special health care needs. I received a Master’s degree in Dental Public Health at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, as well as the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the Center for Disabilities and Development.

I am a member of the following dental organizations: Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Greater Dallas Pediatric Dental Society, Texas Dental Society, and North Texas Dental Society.

I decided to specialize in pediatric dentistry because after being a general dentist, I realized that when I was working with children I felt like I was making a difference. I believe kids are like sponges just waiting for someone with a little patience to show them how to do things.

Limiting my practice enables me to set up an environment designed to encourage imagination and learning. I enjoy being a pediatric dentist because it is one of the few professions where you can have fun with children all day long and watch them grow up from infancy all the way to college.

In my spare time, I like spending time with my wife, Heather, and our 5 children (Paige, Hayden, Asher, Trinity, and Hunter); working on our ranch with our exotic animals; camping; cooking; and visiting small towns in Texas.

Dr. Jodi Tenney was born in Ohio but considers herself a Texan after moving here at age 10. She grew up in Plano, Texas and attended college at Texas A&M University in College Station. Upon finishing her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Jodi went on to complete Dental School here in Dallas at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center/Dental School. She then spent two additional years there obtaining a specialty degree in Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Jodi has lived in the Stonebridge Ranch area in McKinney for about 15 years. She has three children that have grown up here as well. Ethan, the oldest, attends University of Arkansas, Olivia, the middle, attends Florida State University, and Rowan, the youngest, attends McKinney Boyd HS. They also have 3 dogs, two Goldendoodles and a Havanese.

In Dr. Jodi’s free time, she enjoys running, swimming, and cycling, and has even competed in a few Half Ironman Triathlons. She and the kids love to go skiing together and spending time at the beach as well.

Working with children has always been a passion for Dr. Jodi. She draws from her motherly experiences with her own children to be able to provide compassionate care to her patients. In the past few years, she has also gone on to take several additional courses in working with the CO2 laser to provide top notch soft tissue surgical care to her patients. Even her little newborn patients have benefitted from this “gentler” type of service for the tongue and lip frenectomies that Dr. Jodi can now provide. The office purchased its own state of the art LightScalpel CO2 laser a few years ago and is one of the few offices to have this great tool in the north Texas area! Dr. Jodi is now able to perform everything from frenectomies and gingivectomies, to removal of gum lesions with little to no bleeding at all!

Dr. Laura Bratcher grew up in the surrounding area, and after graduating from The Colony High School, she attended Texas A&M University where she received her B.S. in Biomedical Science. She then went on to dental school at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and with Dean’s Honors in 2002.

Dr. Laura prides herself on treating her patients as if they were her own family members or closest friends. Her greatest pleasure has been creating “smile makeovers” and giving her patients the confidence to smile again. She aims to provide thorough, honest, and gentle care, with the ultimate goal of creating a life-long patient/dentist relationship.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Laura enjoys spending time with her family, her two boys, Brayden and Brody, and their dogs, Ollie and Sayla. She enjoys running, reading, traveling, cheering on her beloved Aggies, and just enjoying life!!

Dr. Michelle Mendoza graduated Cum Laude with her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from UT’s Health Science Center at San Antonio. She is a native of Chihuahua, Mexico and moved to Texas to achieve her dream of becoming a dentist. It was through the experience of getting braces as a child that she decided to make a career of improving smiles, and has been enjoying treating patients of all ages for more than 17 years.

Dr. Michelle loves to participate in community service and one of her favorite services is the Give Kids a Smile Program, which donates dental services to children in need. Dr. Mendoza and her husband have two wonderful sons and a beautiful daughter. She enjoys swimming, reading, yoga and volunteer work. Her favorite hobbies are traveling with her family and experiencing new cuisines and cultures.
