Dr. Jodi Tenney was born in Ohio, but still considers herself a Texan after moving here at age 10. She grew up in Plano, Texas and attended college at Texas A&M University in College Station. Upon finishing her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Jodi went on to complete Dental School here in Dallas at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center/Dental School. She then spent two additional years there obtaining a specialty degree in Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Jodi has been married to her husband, Alex Tenney, for 20 years and they have three kids together. Ethan is a senior at Mckinney Boyd High School and played on the varsity football team, Olivia is a freshman at Mckinney Boyd High School and plays on the soccer team there and for the Solar Club team, and Rowan attends 5th grade at Glen Oaks Elementary. They have been residents of the Stonebridge Ranch Community in Mckinney for over 12 years. The family also has 4 dogs, two Goldendoodles and two Havanese.
In Dr. Jodi’s free time, she enjoys running, swimming and cycling, and even competed in a Half Ironman Triathlon last year. The family likes to go skiing together and loves spending time at the beach as well.
Working with children has always been a passion for Dr. Jodi. She draws from her motherly experiences with her own children, to be able to provide compassionate care to her patients. In the past few years she has also gone on to take several additional courses in working with the CO2 laser to provide top notch soft tissue surgical care to her patients. Even her little newborn patients have benefitted from this ”more gentle” type of service for the tongue and lip frenectomies that Dr. Jodi can now provide. The office purchased it own state of the art LightScalpel CO2 laser a few years ago, and is one of the few offices to have this great tool in the north Texas area! Dr. Jodi is now able to perform everything from frenectomies and gingivectomies, to removal of gum lesions with little to no bleeding at all!
